Our fiber optic sensing technology uses a fiber as a continuous sensor to measure temperature and strain along its length. By sending pulses of light through the fiber, the system analyzes the scattered light that returns, which is affected by strain or temperature variations. It has following advantages:
Monitoring geothermal loop field is essential to ensure the system's efficiency, safety, and longevity. Continuous monitoring allows for tracking the performance metrics such as temperature, flow rates, and pressure, ensuring the system operates at its optimal efficiency, which maximizes energy savings and reduces operational costs. Additionally, it enables early detection of potential issues like pipe leaks or freezing, preventing costly repairs and system downtime. We can provide:

InfraTech helps our clients monitor the subsurface condition of pavement structures with Fiber Optic Sensing technology. The conventional monitoring approach is difficult to pinpoint which layer is defective and find out the root cause when the surface condition is poor. it is insufficient to solely relying on surface condition assessment to make proper decisions on road repair plans or innovative alternatives to the existing construction materials and methodology.
To solve this issue, InfraTech proposes a fiber optic sensing technology. By detecting the changes in optical characteristics within the fibers, the monitoring device can provide real-time measurements of the temperature and distributed strain along the optical fibers installed within the monitored layers (subgrade, base, or pavement layer). Through data processing, the system can provide the following:

Winter roads are critical to the quality of life of remote communities. There are approximately 6,000 km of winter roads to 53 First Nation communities south of 60◦ in Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta and closely monitors winter roads in Saskatchewan but does not provide funding.
Winter roads face significant challenges due to extreme temperature fluctuations and seasonal changes. It is critical to monitor these ice roads in order to determine ice growth and safe use forecasting to enhance the management and maintenance of these critical infrastructure elements. Our fiber optic sensing technology offers a reliable, cost-effective, and integrated solution for ice road monitoring:

Our solution detects changes in strain and temperature over extended lengths, making it ideal for assessing the performance of roads subjected to variable environmental conditions. We are collaborating with the University of Manitoba to develop a robust fiber optic sensing network tailored for monitoring ice roads. This includes evaluating ice thickness, settlement, strength, and providing recommendations for safe conditions.
